For over six months the tournament module has churned away providng service to you all and giving your platform the ability to run your own tournament. We know many sites enjoyed the basic offering and we heard a few important features were needed to make this module function even better. So we sat down and created a development queue in order to handle this freshen up and the exposure of our latest features.
For those not yet a client of ours, we will cover the whole list of features here. You see tournaments are quite simply one of the best ways to engage users to enjoy a little combat in the digital arena, pit their wits and take a chance that they might be the leaderboard pole position winner! So let's discuss what types we have first.
Tournament types:
Some old favourites, but all now include the ability to allow you, the provider, all the options in the tournemant configuration panel. Set the date and time for the start and end, select the type of tournament and the various settings, select the machines and that is pretty much it.
One major benefit of this type of modular system is the ability for us to market the event, select previous players and those who engaged with the machines and inform them by the correct channel that a new tournament is opening. All you need to do it create a few images and load the system, then sit back and watch the magic as it plays out for your customers.
So what is new in our Module? Well, we realised that some of you have multiple sites, so running a tournament in a network style (across all your sites comobined) meant it was easier to make one networked event and promote it than run the same tournament a few times on each platform, not to mention the lower admin and overheads of such operations. We have added the new Aggregate Wins feature, who won the most amount across the entire lifespan of this tournament and we have added a new API endpoint for seeing the live leaderboard!
So to sum it all up, a few changes and enhancements with our new tourney type, our new networking ability and live leaderboard from our API - more reasons to get going and start pushing the fun of tournaments to your users all in one simple toolset.
